Welcome to the New Golden Era of Basketball

Hey NBA fans! If you haven't already noticed, we're officially living in a new Golden Era of basketball. It's an incredible time to be a fan, with young stars like Anthony Edwards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Dončić, and Jayson Tatum making their presence felt both on and off the court. These guys aren't just playing the game; they're redefining it and showing us who really runs the league right now. Let's kick things off with Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves. This kid has sparked some heated debates recently. Mainstream sports analysts are already throwing around comparisons to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Sure, it might be too early to crown him the next MJ or Kobe, but there's no denying that Antman is something special. At just 22 years old, he carries himself with a swagger and intensity that harks back to the legends of the game. His natural skillset and athleticism are off the charts. Remember his back-and-forth with Jamal Murray in the playoffs? It was like watching a modern-day Kobe vs. Iverson duel. Keep an eye on Edwards; his story is just beginning. Speaking of young stars, Luka Dončić is another name that comes up in these conversations. He reminds me so much of Larry Bird. Luka may not be the most athletic guy on the court, but his basketball IQ, court vision, and clutch shooting make him an absolute killer. He's destined for a Hall of Fame career and multiple championships. Just watch. And then there's Ja Morant, who brings a Derrick Rose and Allen Iverson vibe with his explosive athleticism, fearless mentality, and undeniable swag. He's a game-changer, influencing today's generation in a way few others can. His highlight-reel plays and electrifying presence make every Grizzlies game a must-watch.Jayson Tatum is another young superstar making waves. He reminds me of Carmelo Anthony with his smooth, lethal scoring ability. Tatum can hit from long range, mid-range, and dominate in the post. He's already taken the Celtics to the finals and multiple conference finals, and he's just getting started. What I'm really trying to say is, the NBA is in GREAT hands. I haven't been this excited to watch basketball in a long time. The skill level across the board is insane. Players today are elite shooters, ball handlers, and athletes. And from a marketing standpoint, they bring so much personality and flair to the league. It's fun to watch. We often talk about players having that "dawg" in them, and I feel like this new generation is bringing that mentality back to the game. Sure, the refs might still be soft at times, but overall, the future of the NBA is bright. I love this game, man.So, what do you guys think about the state of today's NBA? Drop your thoughts in the comments. Let's celebrate this new era together! Hope you enjoyed my rant. Cheers!
The Hoopery: Evolution

The Hoopery: Evolution

They say that change is the only constant in life, & that's certainly the case for our Brand in 2022.  Successful evolution has three components: a vision, orientation, and a strategy. Years ago, The Hoopery found it's identity, not only as a Brand but as a community of likeminded enthusiasts between Basketball & Streetwear Culture. At that time, we remastered iconic Basketball moments into Street Art on clothes while gaining unwavering support from all of you.  But The Hoopery heritage stems further than when we first started as a Brand. While our core & traditional values remain the same, we've noticed that through this period of innovation & the same type of nostalgia - we're able to fuse our creative imagination into a modern image.  So what does this mean for The Hoopery's Future? Limited & more exclusive releases: We want all of you to feel a sense of exclusivity when rockin' your gear & limiting our releases accomplishes that.  MORE releases - smaller in collection size: Collections will not only be a 1:1, but smaller collections allow us to manufacture & fulfill faster & more efficiently. YOU all come first, and helped pave the way for our success.  Designs for you, by you: We continue to accept your feedback, it allows us to go back to the drawing board & really try to tell a story behind the designs.  We will still have products available on site, but specific designs & collaborations will be exclusive to the start and end date announced of that release.  YOU all paved the way for our success, and as our fan base & community grows - we grow with you.
Thoughts On The Upcoming All-Star 22' Weekend Release

Thoughts On The Upcoming All-Star 22' Weekend Release

This upcoming All Star weekend feels a bit different to me this year. I kind of feel like it’s the passing of the torch from one era to the next. With a generation of future HOF’ers coming to an end such as Lebron, CP3, Melo, and even KD. Although they are still elite, there is no beating Father Time (unless your initials are LBJ, he doesn’t count lol). I remember I used to worry about the future of the league when these stars eventually hang ‘em up for the last time but with the young bucks leading the charge like Ja Morant, Trae Young, Luka Doncic, Giannis, Embiid, Zach Lavine etc … I feel like the league will be in good hands moving forward.  I would be lying to say that All Star Weekend has ALWAYS brought the most nostalgia to me. To see a collective of the the world's very best to showcase why they get paid the big bucks is truly an amazing sight and a rare experience to witness. From the lobs passes, to the insane in game dunks, it’s pure entertainment.  This All Star Collection features our ‘Out of this World’ Concepts based of inspo from vintage hoops posters from back in the 90’s. As always we will be paying homage to the Greatest Players ever do it, MJ & Kobe.  Lastly, our last launch we had some technical difficulties which greatly affected our user experience + with all of the supply chain issues we have been pushing this launch back so this hasn’t been the smoothest collections to prep for but we made it and we’re here now. To Thank you guys for rocking with us we want to to drop not one but THREE unreleased SUPER EXCLUSIVE 8th Wonder Twill hoodies paying homage to a kid who went from Highschool to his first All Star game.Do  I need to say anymore? You guys know what to do. SUBSCRIBE to our VIP list to get full launch details so you won’t miss a beat!  Happy Launch Week Team. With Love, Jeremiah, CEO

2020 Finals Blog

2020 Finals Blog

Team Hoopery, It’s Friday morning. As I got up I felt like it’s a perfect time to reflect as a Laker fan, and really come to grips to me that tonight’s game may very well be the FINAL game with a Lakers dub, & we will EARN that 17th ring. It’s been over 10 years since we watched our one true inspiration Kobe Bean Bryant win that 5th ring and since then well, it has been a very dark time as a Laker fan. We were so spoiled with 3 Peats, back to backs, and a history of Legendary Superstars who all brought back that gold. Although it was rough, Laker Nation stayed loyal and we hung in there. We still believed every season that the Laker team can actually do something. But who were we fooling? We had 0 superstars, nobody wanted to join our organization because of the madness going on in the front office. I’m sure they felt the Laker fan base’s frustration, and made some moves to sign Lebron James to a multi-year contract. To those who have followed the Hoopery since 2015, I will be the first to admit I was the BIGGEST LEBRON HATER IN THE WORLD. “HE AINT KOBE, HE AINT CLUTCH, EAST IS WEAK, HE NEEDS TO TEAM UP WITH STARS” ETC. But year after year after year he continued to show is true dominance, whatever team he went on, the numbers really don’t lie, and for him to leave and decided to come to the most storied franchise EVER (sorry not sorry Boston), and for that I had to show love and respect because now, we don’t care about what you did in that HEAT or CAVS jersey. We want to see what you are going to do for the Purple & Gold and we want to see you do it NOW. What I loved is that he brought that championship mentality back to the organization and you can tell he was on a mission. And Today I can say I was wrong, the value he brings to the team, at 35 years old, I have never seen someone still be this dominant. With the first year being #1 in the West until Lebron’s injury, the addition of AD immediately put us as the team to watch and probably will go down as ONE of the greatest duos put together since Shaq & Kobe. With the balance of the league and how STACKED the west is, I thought every series would be a tough series but Lakers have blown by every single team. The Dame, Melo, CJ? Check. Harden, Westbrook, Small ball? Check. Murray and Jokic? Check. And now up 3-1 with a chance to close it out today. With the change of away jerseys to the Mamba & Mambacita Jerseys, I am almost confident we will close this out today. (I’m going to give myself some slack in case Miami pulls some shit off LOL). Which has brought me here, creating a collection to remember the greats who came before us, to show our appreciate the Laker Loyal who supported the team for 10 dark years. We’re here now. It’s inevitable. The TORCH has officially been PASSED, a King will be CROWNED once again, and it will go down as the GREATEST TRIBUTE, AND THE MOST MEANINFUL CHAMPIONSHIP IN LAKER HISTORY. I am just in a championship mood. I strive to bust my ass for this brand to be the best basketball brand in the culture. To provide nostalgia for the new coming era and the old school. Everything the Lakers are about, The Hoopery eats breaths and lives it. We will continue to work until we hold that trophy up just like we will see tonight. Come Celebrate with us after the WIN. We’re dropping some HEAT. (literally) Sorry Miami fans lol. Welcome to the ‘17’ Collection – Jeremiah P.S. excuse the grammar
Bubble Collection & The Return of Equality

Bubble Collection & The Return of Equality

This coming ‘FW20 Bubble’ Collection will be a collection to remember. While working with my design team, Ellison Maniego and Rickey Santos, we wanted to create these timeless pieces where10, 15,or 20 years down the road we could still bring these out as a sort of a timestamp of the crazy year we all lived through in 2020. Our goal for this design is to highlight the Bubble’s best moments, for example, the trash talk and mocking between the Clippers & Damian Lillard, Lou Will exiting the bubble for some “chicken wings”, to DBook absolutely showing OUT going undefeated in his fight for a playoff spot.We also wanted to represent the way people are living through the pandemic and the importance of wearing a mask, so we created our ‘Mask On’ concept paying homage to the players who wore masks with a comic book superhero theme twist.  So far, the NBA is the first and only professional sports league to successfully continue the season without any positive COVID cases. A factor that contributed greatly to this is where every single player is literally stuck in a bubble, known as Disney World. These teams have to play without any fans and this may be a reason why every game is so competitive because there is no home team advantage. Everyone in the world, including us, wanted to see the Western Conference Finals of the Battle of LA, but with the rising young team of the Denver Nuggets, that media headline was quickly shattered. The Bubble highlighted so many duos such as Dame and Melo, Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler, Lebron and AD, and Kawhi and PG. Therefore, in our design, we also created a concept to highlight these ‘Bubble Duos’ that we are extremely excited to drop for the fanatics out there. Although Basketball returned, there was always a risk of it ending-and not only by COVID. With the recent killings of unarmed black men making headlines across the nation, the screams for help became unbearable and the Bucks were the first team to boycott their game, which in result, the rest of the NBA followed. There was talk of players not wanting to play because of what was going on outside of the bubble. The overall feeling among them was that it was more than a game at this point, they needed to take action and speak out loudly for their brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, and children. As you all know from my last letter sent out recently, I will continue to use my platform for the greater good and to stand up for my black brothers and sisters. To continue this fight,we will be bringing back our Equality collection which has our Shoot Hoops Not People, Equality, and new ‘Don’t Shoot’ tees and we will announce further details into that project later. Lastly,as a token of our appreciation we will have another 8 hour shock drop during launch day for something special for Team Hoopery. Our Bubble Collection will be an exclusive, one of a kind, collection for the ages. Our goal is to produce timeless pieces that years from now will bring on nostalgic memories of living through a pandemic, division, injustice, and the sport of basketball like we have never seen before. Like they always say, tough times don’t last, tough people do. See You Guys Soon and Stay Tuned!
Why I Use The Hoopery As My Voice - Letter From The CEO

Why I Use The Hoopery As My Voice - Letter From The CEO

Team Hoopery, The purpose of this is to share just a little bit more about myself for you all to grasp and understand why I use The Hoopery platform as my voice about important social issues. On our Hoopery YouTube channel, there is our ‘About The Hoopery’ video where I share how the Hoopery started and what we are all about. A part of me was hesitant to share some opinions publicly because of how things are currently with this country but I felt that it was such an important piece to my story. I feel like I owe it to you all to be able to share that story as it has contributed greatly into creating this brand. To the best supporters I could have ever asked for, I am truly blessed to have all of you. You guys really keep this brand going and I want to share this story with you.                 I was born in Okinawa, Japan on a United States Naval Base. Since my dad was a US citizen but my mom was not at that time, there was a law that made me a Philippine Citizen by default. I am a citizen of a country I have never set foot in, isn’t that something? To make matters worse, I came to America at about 2 months old and the airport mistakenly stamped my passport as a TOURIST which created many problems for me. Despite this issue, my dad served 26 years as a Senior Chief in the Navy so I was always in good standing, I went to school no problem, and was able to go to my doctor for checkups. However, the one thing I could not do was get a job until I was 21 years old because my Social Security card had a nice “Not Valid For Employment” on it. Eventually, my family had to hire a lawyer who helped me receive my green card to get a job and start my process of getting naturalized where I now am eligible to apply for citizenship.               This plays such an important factor in my story because up until the age of 21, I would make money off reselling some of my basketball shoes, and recycling water bottles and cans. At age 17 is when I met my wife, and that is how I was able to take her out to eat once a week. When I received my green card is when I joined Respiratory Therapy program and created The Hoopery Instagram. If you also follow The Hoopery Family Youtube channel, in our latest video, I announced that I quit my hospital job to fulfill my dreams and passion to pursue The Hoopery full time. (include link to video here).  Now I am 28 years old and I have made it a goal to apply for citizenship this year but sadly it won’t be in time for this year’s election. Since I legally cannot vote, this is where my passion and drive to use this platform comes from. I want to be able to still use my voice and stand up for what I believe is right.               This next Fall/Winter 20’ Bubble Collection will feature a restock of our Equality collection, some EXCLUSIVE Bubble Inspired Designs, Introduction of Rocky our alter ego mascot, and a LIMITED TIME SENSITIVE 8 HOUR drop as a special thank you and appreciation for everyone’s patience during this time of transition and growth. We will also be finalizing our Equality donation this week and announce our next project shortly. We will not release anything new until we fulfill all current and pending orders so please stay tuned, stay notified, and follow closely as we gear up for a historical collection we will remember forever. All Love, Jeremiah
